Through The Purple Haze Challenge- Funky Card

This week's challenge has been to create along a funky theme. I used my Copics to colour a Kenny K image from Whimsy Stamps. I bought these a short time back with my teens in mind and was glad to get around to using them.
 Colours used: Skin: E00, E31, E34 Cheeks E11, E93 lips E04, R37. Top and Shoes:E04, R37, R59, Y35 Socks and White highlights: C1, C3, C5 Jeans: B14, B16, B18 Hair: E33, E35, E37

The paper used for this card was from Simply Stories. I used both sides of two different sheets of paper. One sheet included the saying across the bottom of the card. All edges of the paper were inked using Brushed Corduroy Distress Ink.
The flourishes were cut  up into pieces to fit the card. This is something I often do with flourishes and other pieces of bling.
Going through my chipboard stash, I came across the circular frame and the numbers for this card (the number 16 so that I can use this card for my daughter's birthday next week!) I used the Distress Embossing Pad to stamp on the chipboard after I had edged the pieces with a black sharpie.
The embossing powder I used was called Black Tinsel by Stamp It. It has multi coloured fine glitter in with the black powder.
I had fun making this card and hope Ash likes it when she sees it on her big birthday!

Through The Purple Haze Bingo Challenge

This week's challenge at Through The Purple Haze Challenge Blog was to complete a line up in their Bingo List for embellishments on a card.
I used one of the Alice In Wonderland Digis from Simply Betty Stamps as my focal image. I love the White Rabbit outfit! The image is coloured using Copic markers. Waterfall Stickles have been dabbed lightly on the eyelids, tail and boots to jazz up the image a bit more.
I have just invested in a Grand Calibur die cutting machine and put it to good use  making the background for this card. I used the large label Spellbinders dies and then Cheery Lynn's heart die. This machine is so much easier than my Cuttlebug for the thin dies and the large cutting plates are great too.(Still love my Cuttlebug though!)
In the background there is lots of bling and to complete the challenge I added some hot pink roses. These also have touches of Stickles on them.
All of the pieces of paper and card were distressed using Coffee Archival Ink and the sentiment has been mounted using foam dots to complete my easel card.
As always, don't forget to pop over to throughthepurplehazechallenges to see everyone else's brilliant entries. Looking forward to next week's 'Funky' challenge.

Through the Purple Haze Challenge- Butterflies and Flowers

I have had heaps of fun making this card for the Through The Purple Haze Challenge.
I coloured a Magnolia image using my Copic markers. I cut it out and inked around the edges of the piece of card using 'Brushed Corduroy' Distress Ink. As with last week's challenge, I used Kaisercraft's 'Precious Moments' paper pad. This is proving to be very useful and has a great variety of patterns in it. The flowers were from my copious stash of blooms and the pink pearls were from Flourish with a Bling. The white butterfly and background lace are both  Martha Stewart Punches.
I hope you like my card layout. If you would like to see other great butterfly and flower design ideas don't forget to pop on over to Through The Purple Haze Challenges Blog.

Simply Betty July Challenge

For the July challenge over at Simply Betty Stamps, we had the choice of either a good or bad mermaid digi. I chose the good version. She was so much fun to colour.
I used shades of purple for her hair and while I made her tail grey, I added dots of the purple shades to represent scales.
This card was a perfect excuse to splurge on a memory box die. I loved the detail in this wave design.
The background was created by using a Sizzix die and then rubbing distress ink across the top to highlight the embossed design.
I placed gauze behind the mermaid and finally added some Flourish With A Bling Pearls in Dark Blue.

Through the Purple Haze Challenge Week Four

For this week's challenge, the card I made needed to incorporate a tag and a crafty message. I used Kaisercraft's  'Precious Moments' papers. They featured pinks, cream, browns and greens with lots of florals and flourishes. The wooden dress form is also a Kaisercraft product. I painted it cream and used paper and pink bling to decorate it. The fussy cut flowers on my card were also from the paper pack. A doiley, lace, ribbon and some pink flourishes finished off the card. All paper pieces were distressed with Tea Dye Distress Ink.

Through The Purple Haze Challenge- Week Three

This week's challenge was to incorporate favourite colours. I chose red and yellow- nice warming colours for the cold winter. I also met the challenge of using Simply Betty Stamps. I just love them and there are so many great designs to choose from. This one is The Queen of Hearts...I have all the Wonderland characters.
I coloured the image using Copic markers and included some pearls from Flourish with a Bling.
